Alvin Capp was 21-years-old at George Washington University in Washington D.C. when John F. Kennedy was inaugurated on January 20, 1961. He supported J.F.K.'s campaign and presidency up until J.F.K.'s death on November 22, 1963.

I hadn't realized the wealth of information my grandfather possessed. Our conversation opened up a lot of doors to new conversations and discussions. He had a front-row seat to a lot of the events I enjoy learning about in school or on my own time. I especially enjoyed his story about the bill that he single handedly wrote and passed through Congress. The cameras were off, however, when he told the story.
